Taranaki Survivor: Episode Two

The second episode of the Internet Only Classroom Competition - Survivor Taranaki! Following Episode One, Whero decided to eliminate Jayden from their team.

Desperate for a win to even the competition up in this challenge both teams had to solve a fifty piece floor puzzle in the shortest possible time - however the puzzle was double sided and also didn't have a regular border.

Who would co-operate with each other and work together? Who would find co-operation difficult? Who would beat the other teams time and send the other team to elimination? One thing is for sure, there are 17 players left in competition and the adventure has to end for someone. No immunity idols have been played, but they're out there and closer than the players think...

    1. Thanks for the Comment Brooke - Its holidays in New Zealand at the moment - we won't be back at school for a week so we're posting some material that we filmed in the last week of school, there are two more episodes that we've already filmed and will be appearing shortly, because all of the episodes are being filmed and then edited and put together later. We love your blog here in New Zealand and we'll be back with our students later in the month. Thanks so much for your comment.

  2. Hi Mr. Webb
WOW! I wish we did survivor in my class!
You have done such an awesome job creating survivor. In the sudden death challenge what was it that they were stacking?
We did survivor when I was in grade 5 which was fun, but we never got to finish it because a teachers strike started.
The Survivor that we played was different to yours because we didn't vote people of the tribe, which was fine with me because I wouldn't have wanted to get voted off.
Are you going to be doing more Survivor?

They were stacking a plastic rod - it looked really easy but everyone was very nervous so they had a bit more difficulty with it than they would have normally. If you look at the video you will see that Teague and Ashton (the boys) did it with one hand behind their back - so they didn't make a mistake! We're scheduled to finish it in December, which is when our school year finishes, which seems a long way away at the moment. I don't think anyone wants to get voted off and no-one wants to but we've got all the students who are in class helping with the filming and making of props etc. We're going to have about twenty episodes altogether to finish the season and get down to the last two or three players.

    1. Abbie - I would love to see some footage of that if it was something that you recorded. We were looking for a project to run through for the end of the term and it was something that everyone could participate in, everyones enjoying it but no-one really wants to get voted out.
